Senior Accountant Required in Dubai

The Senior Accountant for General Ledger is responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and supporting the financial close process. This role will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and providing accurate financial information to support decision-making.

Responsibilities:

Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data. Prepare and post journal entries for routine and non-routine transactions. Review and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reports. Update and analyze GL schedules.
Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness. Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing reconciliations. Ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures during the financial close process.
Support and assist in the bank documentation and communication.
Follow-up with concerned parties on the unreconciled items and unidentified receipts.
Review cheques and mark the bounced cheques as bounced.
Generate ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management.
Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and provide support during internal and external audits. Respond to audit inquiries and provide requested documentation in a timely manner. Assist in the Owners Association audits by creating the accruals through comparison between the budget and the actuals and submit for review.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy
Post Graduate Qualification such as CPA is preferred
5-10 Years of experience in the Accounting or Finance Field, 3 Years experience in General Ledger
Real Estate experience in Dubai specifically Owner’s Association experience
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
