Financial Controller Required in Dubai

Dubai-based fintech startup Comfi is looking for a seasoned financial specialist to run in-house financials and accounting, including – performing financial modelling and unit-economics calculation, debtors and creditors management, monthly closing and reporting, helping founders in dealing with international investors and lenders.

The candidate should have excellent knowledge and experience in financial modelling and analysis (strong credit or investment tactical analysis skills required), general accounting principles and methodology (IFRS), as well as demonstrate proven experience in management reporting and financial controlling.

He/she must display exceptionally good MS Excel skills, necessary for the creation of engaging and easy-to-understand, but detailed financial models and unit economics analysis.

Location: Downtown, Dubai, UAE.

Flexible work hours, but work mainly in the office. Relocation package available.

Reporting: CFO

Responsibilities:

Perform monthly closing, coordinate with the outsourced accountant preparation of monthly financial statements, perform verification of monthly statements, presentation of the results to the management;
Build detailed financial models and perform monthly updates (rolling forecast), scenarios modelling, unit-economics analysis for various B2B lending options;
Coordination of due diligence process with external consultants by request of potential lenders and investors, annual audit with an auditor;
Management of outstanding limits for debtors and creditors, payments and liquidity control;
Preparation of invoices, receipts, certificates and other documents on request;
Perform day-to-day payments and dealing with banks’ compliance requests, perform calculation and payments of salaries;
Introduce new reporting forms and procedures, propose optimisation of financial processes, constantly plan and develop automation of standardised operations;
Be ready to run automation projects in collaboration with outsourced methodologists and programmers, take a lead role in development of management reporting (CF, PL, BS) in the internal reporting system.

Requirements:

Proven working experience. Preferable as a credit/investment analyst in corporate lending, an auditor or corporate finance consultant in Big-4 plus financial manager/controller responsible for management reporting, monthly closing, reconciliations, automation of operations and reporting, operational financial management (debtor, creditors, liquidity).
Proven strong experience and skills in financial modelling and unit economy analysis in Excel.
At least 4+ years of overall combined accounting and financial experience, preferably with international operations.
University degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience with development of management reporting, general ledger functions and the monthly closing process.
Fluent business English, Russian-speaker as an advantage.
Experience in BNPL, B2B e-commerce as a plus.
Advanced analytical skills and attention to details.
